Our 56th annual Northbrook Short Track Open Speedskating Meet was held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Northbrook Sports Complex and Ice Center.   Each year our Short Track Open draws speedskaters from local-regional clubs as well as other parts of the country.  The meet runs the entire day with 3-4 distances (heats and finals) for each age group in both the A and B classes (6-8 races for each skater).  Registrants this year will receive free meet t-shirts with a newly designed speedskating logo, free hot lunch, awards for all youth skaters and trophies for the 1st-3rd finishers in each age group.  The special Chuck Burke and Evie Gabel awards will be given for the fastest respective mens and womens 1000m times at the meet.
