Our 58th annual Northbrook Short Track Open Speedskating Meet will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Northbrook Sports Complex (1730 Pfingsten Rd, Northbrook, IL).   Each year our Short Track Open draws speedskaters from many local-regional speedskating clubs as well as other parts of the country.  In the past few years, we have moved to a single day meet format with 3-4 distances (6-8 races) guaranteed for each skater.  All meet registrants receive free meet t-shirts with a newly designed speedskating logo, awards for all youth skaters ten and under, and trophies for the 1st-3rd finishers in each speedskating group.  The special Burke and Gabel trophies will be awarded for the fastest respective mens and womens 1000m times at the meet.
